Baby Photography Durham

A collage of newborn babies, demonstrating the styles of the photography studio.

Newborn babies change so much in such a short space of time, so we find many parents find it really important to capture those moments.  All of our baby sessions take place on a Thursday or Friday currently.  The ideal window for your session is the first 7-14 days.  This usually ensures that your partner can also take part before returning from paternity leave.  But if for some reason you can not make it in that window we are one of the few studios in the region that will still do newborn sessions up to at least 6 weeks.  If your baby arrives early then we can also look after you, just give us a call and we will take care of it.

The one thing we are asked the most is how much does it cost?

Well this is actually one of the hardest questions to answer because everyone is individual.  We take a £50 booking fee for midweek sessions and we then have a very limited number of weekend slots available and we take a £100 booking fee for these sessions where available.  Booking fees are then refunded against anything you decide to purchase.  Most of our clients invest between £450 and £950 on their baby photography.  But there is no minimum spend.  We can also offer up to 12 months interest free payments

SCHEDULE A DATE

It is best to book your session within the first 14 days of your due date/arrival.  If you are already past 14 days please book ASAP or call us on 0191 3407273 to discuss.

YOUR PHOTOSHOOT

Your photoshoot will take place at our Chester le Street studio.  We aim to finish the session within 2 hours however we always go at your little ones pace.  So sometimes it might go on a bit longer.

The studio is a safe, warm environment for your little one to curl up and sleep whilst we gently pose them.

We take a mix of photographs including family and sibling shots should you want them.

CHOOSE YOUR PORTRAITS

Following your session you will be invited to come back to the studio within a week or so to look at your beautiful images that we have just created for you.

They will be projected onto our big screen for your pleasure from when you can pick any of our wonderful products or collections.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a rule we do not photoshop your baby.  We always present your images to you as they are.  If your baby has anything like dry skin, milk spots or mottled skin then you will see this at your viewing appointment.  Many photographers will photoshop babies before you even see the images and what we find is that 99% of clients want to remember their baby just as they are.  However if you want us to clean the skin up etc it is not a problem and part of the service if you want it.

Yes of course, we encourage all parents to be in photographs.  We have a a way of photographing you which means it is just your head and shoulders on view so do not worry about the fact that you recently just had your baby, we have got you covered.

Yes of course, Siblings are part of the family too and we will endeavour to include them in the session wherever possible.  You just have factor in that the session may go on for 2-3 hours so you may need to plan to keep younger siblings entertained for that period of time.

We strongly recommend that you reserve a slot once you have had your 20 week scan if possible.  We have limited slots available each week for baby sessions and once they are gone they are gone.  The best thing to do is book a slot 7-10 days after your due date.  We know baby is highly unlikely to arrive on this date and we can adjust your booking once we know baby has arrived.

If baby has already arrived then please do not delay, get in touch and we will see what we can do availability wise.
