At Infinity Photographic Studios Ltd, I photograph newborns gently and with care at our Chester le Street studio, welcoming families from Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and across the North East.
Newborn sessions are designed to be relaxed and baby-led, creating timeless portraits you will treasure forever.
Newborn photography in Durham
Newborn sessions are ideal when babies are still very new, usually around 7 to 14 days old. This timing often fits around paternity leave too, making it easier for partners to join the session.
If you are worried about what if your baby arrives early, do not worry, we can adjust your appointment. It’s best to book early and we then give you a floating appointment. I can hold your session date and adjust once your little one arrives.
And if your baby has already passed that early window, we are one of the few studios in the region that will photograph newborns up to at least 6 weeks old.
My approach is calm and patient, keeping your baby comfortable at all times.
Baby photography sessions
If your baby is older than the newborn stage, a baby session is a lovely way to capture personality, smiles and interaction as they grow. These sessions still use gentle posing and a relaxed studio environment so babies feel comfortable and happy.
Whether you book a newborn session or a baby shoot, the focus remains on natural, timeless photographs you will be glad you have.
What to expect at your session
Your session will take place on a Wednesday or Thursday . We build plenty of time into every session so feeds, settling and breaks are never rushed. I guide you gently throughout the shoot and will help you feel relaxed in front of the camera. We also have very limited sessions available on a Saturday.
Siblings and parents are welcome to be included at any point, and we create relaxed family portraits alongside the baby if you wish.
Newborn sibling photography
Sibling photos are often cherished highlights from a newborn session. They tell the story of your family at that moment and require simple, safe, baby-led interaction.

Pricing and investment
One of the most common questions is how much does it cost? The answer can vary because every family is different, there is no one size fits all
A £50 booking fee is taken for midweek sessions, and we have a limited number of weekend slots with a £100 booking fee where available. Booking fees are refunded against anything you choose to purchase.
Most clients invest between £450 and £950 in their baby photography, though there is no minimum spend, and we also offer up to 12 months interest-free payments.
When to book
We recommend booking your newborn photoshoot from your 20-week scan. We currently offer just two newborn sessions per week, so reserving your slot early helps ensure availability.
When choosing your session date, we recommend selecting a date 7–10 days after your due date, even if you feel you may go early. This booking then becomes a floating appointment, which we can easily move once your baby has arrived.
If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, simply let us know and we will adjust your session date accordingly, ensuring you do not miss the opportunity to capture those first precious days.

Frequently Asked Questions
As a rule we do not photoshop your baby. We always present your images to you as they are. If your baby has anything like dry skin, milk spots or mottled skin then you will see this at your viewing appointment. Many photographers will photoshop babies before you even see the images and what we find is that 99% of clients want to remember their baby just as they are. However if you want us to clean the skin up etc it is not a problem and part of the service if you want it.
Yes of course, we encourage all parents to be in photographs. We have a a way of photographing you which means it is just your head and shoulders on view so do not worry about the fact that you recently just had your baby, we have got you covered.

We strongly recommend that you reserve a slot once you have had your 20 week scan if possible. We have limited slots available each week for baby sessions and once they are gone they are gone. The best thing to do is book a slot 7-10 days after your due date. We know baby is highly unlikely to arrive on this date and we can adjust your booking once we know baby has arrived.
